STREAKING SEXTON TO APPEAR ON INSIDE STAMPEDE HOCKEY

Former Stampede forward Dan Sexton (2006-07) has five points (4g, 1a) in his first five NHL games. After being held scoreless in his first two games with the Anaheim Ducks, Sexton tallied five points in his next three games.

The Apple Valley, MN native posted his first two career NHL goals in a 4-3 shootout win over Dallas on Tuesday. On Thursday, Sexton recorded a goal and an assist in a 3-2 overtime loss at Detroit. Sexton finished the week by scoring the Ducks first goal in a 3-1 win at Columbus.

Sexton is scheduled to appear "live" on Inside Stampede Hockey today on KWSN-AM 1230 to talk about his experience. Inside Stampede Hockey airs from 5-6 PM on KWSN and online at www.kwsn.com.

TROPP LEADS NCAA IN SCORING

Another former Stampede forward is making some noise nationally. Corey Tropp of the Michigan State Spartans leads the NCAA in scoring with 27 points (16g, 11a) in just 20 games. This past weekend, Tropp recorded six points in a weekend sweep of Bowling Green.

On Friday, Tropp tallied the game tying goal and then help set up the overtime winner in a 3-2 OT win. On Saturday, Tropp recorded a hat trick and assisted on another in a 4-1 win over the Falcons to complete the weekend sweep. Tropp's six points almost assures him CCHA Offensive Player of the Week honors when the award is announced later today.

"I've just been fortunate," said Tropp after the game. "I think anyone in our locker room is capable of getting that late goal. I've been on a lucky string and hopefully that can carry over in the second half."

Like Sexton, Tropp was a member of the Stampede's Clark Cup championship team in 2007. He is currently in his junior season and an assistant captain with the Spartans.
