Idaho Stampede News Release

Livingston returns with a solid performance
A season and a half removed from his last stint with the Stampede, Randy Livingston returned to the team with a nice opening game performance Sunday night against the Michigan Mayhem. A double-double with 10 points and 13 assists in just 24 minutes reminds fans of what he is capable of. And with a 13:1 assist-to-turnover ratio (though after just one game) is hopefully a sign of great things to come.

Sun Kings, Sun Kings, Sun Kings - and you can say that again
The Stampede will finish out their Sun King schedule this week when they play four against Yakama. The team traveled to Yakima Sunday night following their game with Michigan and will play on Monday and Wednesday, head back to Boise, then play Yakama at Qwest Arena on Friday and Saturday. This will be the last time these teams play one another unless they are matched up in the CBA Championship game this March.

Stampede and the Ronald McDonald House Friday
On Friday, fans are encouraged to bring a snack item to the game and drop it off in the Qwest Arena lobby. All snacks will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House in Boise.

The Ronald McDonald House was created to provide a "home away from home" for families of ill children that are receiving treatment at local hospitals. The snacks are put in the RMH pantry and serve as treats for kids that stay there to give them the feeling that they are at their own home. The Stampede hopes to collect enough snacks to fill the bed of a Dodge truck that will be parked at the game.

Operation Opening Doors concludes Saturday
Saturday is Military Night for the Idaho Stampede and marks the finale of their Operation Opening Doors. For the past eight games, fans have been able to bid on their favorite player's jersey in a silent auction. Players will wear camo jerseys on Saturday night and at the end of the game the winning bidders will be presented with the jerseys.

Operation Opening Doors is a program created to help finance the reconstruction and retrofitting of homes of military soldiers that were injured while serving their country. All money raised from the silent auction and from the sale of camo wristbands will be donated to this program.

Stampede finish the week with two season firsts
For the first time this season, the Stampede played on a Sunday night at Qwest Arena. And the effort wasn't wasted. The team logged its largest margin of victory of 44 points against the Michigan Mayhem. Prior to this game, the largest margin of victory was 26 when Albany paid a visit on December 6.

Another record matched while others get close
In our weekly record watch, the Stampede franchise watched its team match and break two more records. The Stampede made 13 3-pointers against Michigan on Sunday which is the most since the team hit 13 at Sioux Falls on Christmas 2004. Sunday the Stampede also held the Mayhem to 76 points, the lowest since January 24, 1999 when La Crosse only managed to score 78.

Other records that have been broken or tied this year are the single game rebounding record (broken by Eric Chenowith with 29), 3-point field goals in a game (tied by David Jackson with 8 twice) and steals in a game (tied by Jermaine Boyette with 7).

So how close are the Stampede getting to breaking some season long records? David Jackson is just 183 points away from the points scored in a single season currently held by 2005 CBA MVP Sam Clancy. Jackson is also just 18 3-pointers away from breaking the Stampede single season and career record in that category currently held by Damon Jones (Cleveland Cavaliers). Eric Chenowith is just 55 rebounds away from breaking Clancy's single season rebound mark. His rebounding efforts have also led the way for the team. This season's team currently averages 44.5 rebounds per game which is ahead of the 1998-99 team's average of 43.4 rpg.

Based on Jackson and Chenowith's current averages, Chenowith is projected to break the rebounding record against Yakama this weekend at Qwest Arena. Jackson could break the 3-point record the following weekend against either Sioux Falls or Gary and the points scored record either in Sioux Falls on March 3 or at home against the Wizards on March 7.

Storey gets first start of career
Former Stampede player Awvee Storey got his first career NBA start this past Monday against the Orlando Magic. He played just over 13 minutes and scored 4 points to go along with 4 rebounds.

Game Previews
through 02/12/06)

The Stampede enter this four game stand with a 4-3 record against the Western Conference leaders. Gone from the Yakama active roster are Ronny Turiaf (Los Angeles Lakers), Etdrick Bohannon (Inactive Reserve), Cheyne Gadson (Injured Reserve), Mark Strickland (waived on February 10), Geno Carlisle (traded to Sioux Falls), Eric Williams (Idaho Stampede) and Jeremee McGuire (Dakota Wizards). But there is clearly a strong core still around as the Sun Kings continue to win. They have won 10 out of their last 15 games.

Yakama head coach Paul Woolpert has been suspended for one game. Depending on whether or not Yakama appeals the suspension, he may be out for Monday's game.

Antwain Barbour has had the hot hand against the Stampede in their seven previous match-ups. He averages 18.7 ppg and 5.0 rebounds against the Stampede. Leonard White has also played well averaging 16.9 ppg and 9.4 rpg.

No team has been hit harder by the return of Josh Davis. In the three games Davis has played against the Sun Kings, he has averaged 22.3 points, a higher personal average than against any other team. Additionally, he is averaging 11.7 rpg against Yakama which is second only to Eric Chenowith's 12.0 rpg.
