
Stampede Trade for Brown, Draft Pick

BOISE, Idaho, January 2, 2013 - The Idaho Stampede acquired Carlon Brown and a fourth round draft pick in the 2013 NBA D-League Draft from the Santa Cruz Warriors in exchange for Paul Carter, the club announced today.
Brown (6-5, 215, Colorado, b. 10/4/89) is averaging 5.5 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game in six games this season with Santa Cruz. Brown totaled eight points and five rebounds against Idaho on Dec. 14. Brown was a member of the Golden State Warriors training camp roster and acquired by Santa Cruz via the affiliate rule. Brown was named the 2012 Pac-12 Tournament Most Outstanding Player, leading Colorado to four wins in four days to claim the Pac-12 Tournament Championship and the league's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. Brown played the previous three seasons at Utah.
In addition to this move, the Stampede have waived Jai Lucas.
Brown is expected to play tomorrow when the Stampede play at Austin at noon (MST). He will wear jersey No. 14.
