Stampede to Face Lincoln in First Round of Playoffs

Sioux Falls, SD-The Sioux Falls Stampede will face the Lincoln Stars in the Western Conference Semi-Finals starting Tuesday in Sioux Falls at 7:05 PM. All three rounds of the Clark Cup Playoffs are best-of-five series.

Game 2 will be Wednesday in Sioux Falls with Game 3 taking place this Friday, April 19th in Lincoln. If necessary, Game 4 would be played Saturday in Lincoln and Game 5 would be played on Tuesday, April 23rd in Sioux Falls. Tickets for Games 1 & 2 are available now through the Sioux Falls Arena Box Office or any Tickemaster location.

Sioux Falls is the #1 seed in the Western Conference while Lincoln is the #4 seed. The Herd finished the season with a 5-3-0 mark against the Stars. The Stampede and Stars last met in the playoffs in 2009 with Lincoln winning in the first round, 3 games to 1. The two teams also met in 2008 with Lincoln winning a first round series in three games. In 2007, the Stampede swept the Stars in a best-of-seven first round series and the two teams also met in 2006 when the Stampede topped the Stars in four games during the Western Conference Finals.

The other Western Conference Semi-Final series features #2 Fargo against #3 Waterloo. Over in the East, the top seeded Dubuque Fighting Saints will face Muskegon while #2 Green Bay has home-ice advantage over #3 Youngstown.
