Stampede Stalled in Los Angeles

BOISE, Idaho, March 12, 2012 - Marcus Banks scored 24 points (8-16 FG, 2-4 3FG, 6-6 FT) off the bench, but the Idaho Stampede lost to the Los Angeles D-Fenders 108-99.

The Stampede (16-25) pulled to within seven points of the D-Fenders late in the game, but were done in by a 30-16 Los Angeles advantage in the second quarter. Seth Tarver had 19 points and seven rebounds, Willie Jenkins had 12 points and Reggie Larry added 10 points. Idaho held the D-Fenders to just 2-of-12 from behind the three-point line, but surrendered 62 free throw attempts, with L.A. making 48 for 77.4 percent.

Each Stampede starter had four or more personal fouls, with three players off the bench committing four or more, as well. Both Marcus Banks and Mikki Moore fouled out as the Stampede committed 41 personals. Six technical fouls were called in the game, plus one flagrant-1 foul. Los Angeles pulled ahead in the second quarter by holding the Stampede to 35.7 percent shooting from the field, while the home team made 10-of-20 shots and 9-of-10 free throws.

Seven D-Fenders scored in double-figures with Jamario Moon totaling 19 points (8-9 FT) and eight rebounds. Elijah Millsap added 17 points (11-14 FT), six rebounds and three steals for Los Angeles (30-11).

Idaho returns to play the Texas Legends at home on Wednesday and Thursday; tip-off is at 7 p.m. (MST) both games.
