Idaho Stampede News Release
BOISE, Idaho (November 1, 2005) - The Idaho Stampede has signed their first player for the upcoming CBA season, point guard Jermaine Boyette. Boyette, a former standout at Weber State, most recently led the Dodge City Legend to last summer's USBL championship. He was selected as the USBL tournament Most Valuable Player for his performance.
"Jermaine is an exciting player," said Head Coach Joe Wolf. "He pushes the ball well and does a great job of creating shots for his teammates. I look forward to his leadership both on the court and in the locker room."
Boyette, who played his high school basketball in Hammond, Indiana, averaged 19 points in three years with Weber State, finishing his senior year with an average of 20.5 points per game. He was selected to the Big Sky All-conference team in both 2001 and 2002.
Opening night for the Idaho Stampede at Qwest Arena is Saturday, Nov. 19, against the Yakama Sun Kings. Tip-off is 7:10 p.m, and the halftime show is The Rubberboy, a world-renowned contortionist. Tickets are available at all Select-a-Seat outlets and online at www.idahotickets.com. Ticket prices are $7, $11, and $17 depending on location.
