
Stampede Rumble Past Lancers 4-1

The Stampede rallied after a 1-0 deficit in the second period to score four straight goals in a 4-1 victory over the Lancers Sunday night, December 18th, in Sioux Falls. The Stampede recorded their 13th straight victory and increased their lead in the West Division race to 15 points over the Lancers and the Tri-City Storm.
Harrison Niemann opened the scoring for the Lancers after a scoreless first period with a deflection of a centering pass into the net. Mark Olver and Matt Moulakelis assisted on Niemann's first goal of the season at 6:27 of the second period. However, Sioux Falls then scored at 13:10 on a goal by Drew Akins for a 1-1 tie at the end of the second period of play.
Corey Tropp converted the eventual game-winning goal at the 1:25 mark of the final period for a 2-1 Sioux Falls lead. Drew Fisher and Mark Magnowski added goals in the third period to fashion the final score.
Sioux Falls out shot the Lancers by a 31-30 margin. Lancer net minder Eddie Neville saw his record fall to 8-8-1, while making 27 saves and allowing four goals. Alex Kangas was the winning goalie for Sioux Falls, stopping 29 shots and allowing one goal. The Lancers were 0-for-3 on the power play, while the Stampede went 0-for-5 with the man advantage.
