Idaho Stampede News Release

BOISE, Idaho (March 14, 2006) - The Idaho Stampede have announced that they have re-activated Josh Davis from their Inactive (NBA) Reserve list. Davis will be in the line-up against the Rockford Lightning on Thursday night.

In 14 games with the Stampede this season, Davis has averaged 20.9 points and 8.9 rebounds per game. He is shooting 49.5% from the field, 41.6 % from the 3-point line and 90.9% from the free throw line.

So far this season, Davis has played for three different NBA teams. Hours after he signed with the Stampede on December 2, Davis learned that he would be called up by the Milwaukee Bucks and never had the opportunity to put on a Stampede jersey. He officially signed with the Bucks on December 5. On December 15, the Bucks released Davis and he returned to the Stampede to play in three games before he was called up by the Houston Rockets. On December 29 he officially signed with the Rockets but was waived on January 4. Five days later on January 9 he signed a 10-day contract with the Suns. When that contract was not renewed, Davis was re-activated by the Stampede on January 27. He played in eleven games but was placed on the Inactive Reserve on February 20 to be with his wife for the birth of their first child.

Davis played for the Stampede during the 2003-2004 season when he played in 40 games averaging 18.7 points, 9.6 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game on his way to winning the MVP and Newcomer of the Year awards. In March of 2004 he also signed a 10 day contract with the Atlanta Hawks and then scored 24 points in the CBA championship game.

Davis played with the 76ers during the 2004-2005 season. He spent some time on the injured reserve list and played in 42 regular season games and 2 playoff games. He averaged 2.8 points and 1.9 rebounds per game.

In college, Davis played four years at Wyoming. He left Wyoming as the 2nd leading all time rebounder and was also second in steals, and blocked shots and ranks 13th in scoring. Davis is originally from Salem, OR.
