Stampede Player Among Four Traded Between Sixers And Nuggets

BOISE, Idaho - September 10, 2007 - The Philadelphia 76ers and Denver Nuggets completed a four-player trade today, announced Sixers President Billy King and Nuggets Vice President of Basketball Operations Mark Warkentien. The Nuggets traded forward Reggie Evans and the draft rights to Stampede forward Ricky Sanchez to Philadelphia, in exchange for center Stephen Hunter and forward Bobby Jones.
"At 6-11, Ricky Sanchez is a young prospect that has potential and we will continue to monitor his development," said King.
A 6-foot-11, 215-pound forward, Sanchez was the 35th pick in the 2005 NBA Draft by the Portland Trail Blazers, who traded his rights (along with those of 27th pick Linas Kleiza) to the Denver Nuggets in exchange for the draft rights to Jarrett Jack.
"Ricky has been a huge part of our success and is a member of the Stampede family," said Stampede head coach Bryan Gates. "With this move, we are excited about the chance of having Ricky back on our roster this season."
Sanchez appeared in 50 games last year for the Idaho Stampede, averaging 11.6 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game. A member of the Puerto Rican National team, Sanchez most recently competed in the 2007 FIBA Americas Championship, averaging 5.6 points and 3.2 rebounds.
