SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The Sioux Falls Stampede Hockey Club holds a strong presence in the 2023 NCAA Division I Men's Ice Hockey Tournament with 18 Herd alumni battling to get to the Frozen Four and Final Faceoff.

The 18 Stampede alumni are part of 11 NCAA colleges and universities which span all four regional competitions. In total, the Stampede charted 12 forwards, five defensemen, and one goaltender. Arranged by region and institution, the list of alumni is as follows:

The first round of the NCAA Division I Men's Ice Hockey Tournament begins on March 23 with four games between the Fargo and Manchester regionals. Boston University and Western Michigan will open the tournament at 1 p.m. with Denver and Cornell following at 4:30 p.m. for the Manchester Region. The Fargo region begins play at 4 p.m. with a matchup between St. Cloud State and Minnesota State, followed by Minnesota and Canisius at 8 p.m.

Day two of the tournament will begin with Harvard and Ohio State battling at 1 p.m. on Mar. 24 followed by Quinnipiac and Merrimack at 4:30 p.m. for the Bridgeport Regional. Finally, Penn State and Michigan Tech will start of the Allentown Regional at 4 p.m. with Michigan and Colgate to follow at 7:30 p.m.

While the Herd's alumni make their marks in the NCAA, the team will battle for a playoff spot with a home series against Des Moines (3/25 6:05 p.m.) and Omaha (3/26 4:05 p.m.) this weekend. Tickets for both games are on sale through the Stampede office or KELOLand box office at the Premier Center.
