Fan Appreciation Night Comes to the Premier Center

SIOUX FALLS, SD - The Sioux Falls Stampede Hockey Club is preparing to host the Des Moines Buccaneers and Omaha Lancers on March 25 and 26 at the Denny Sanford Premier Center, respectively.

Saturday's matchup will include a Fan Appreciation Night celebration with a full slate of fun and entertainment for those in attendance. With doors opening at 5 p.m. and puck drop at 6:05 p.m., the first 500 fans through the Premier Center doors will receive the third installment of 2022-23 Stampede Player Trading Cards. An additional giveaway from Midwestern Mechanical and York comes in the form of custom Stampede can koozies to the first 1,000 fans.

Against the Buccaneers, the Stampede holds a 2-1-2 record with both wins coming from home games. The Herd last beat the Buccaneers during a 3-2 overtime win on Wiener Dog Night. When defenseman Evan Murr scored with 27 seconds expired from the overtime clock, the Fighting Wiener Dogs increased their undefeated streak to 16 games.

Des Moines is currently one point ahead of Sioux Falls in United States Hockey League standings with a record of 19-23-8 while Sioux Falls is 19-26-7. With two teams in the Western Conference already clenching playoff positions, the Fargo Force and Waterloo Blackhawks, and just ten games left in the regular season, this weekend will play a large role in if the Herd will earn a Clark Cup Playoff spot.

The Stampede recently returned from a single-game weekend in Omaha, Neb. where they fell to the Omaha Lancers, 3-2, after a goal from Alex Rybakov was questionably called off, preventing the game from going into overtime. The Lancers are eight points behind the Stampede in the Western Conference with a record of 14-27-9. Head-to-head, the Herd has won three of six games with one overtime loss and two wins at home.

Following Sunday's game, the Stampede will host a Skate with the Herd skating party for half an hour. This is the last Skate with the Herd opportunity for fans to come meet players, skate on the Premier Center ice, and get autographs.

Tickets for both games are available now. Fans may purchase tickets via the Stampede office, KELOLand box office, or by using TicketMaster. The season ticket renewal period is also open and current members should contact their sales representative for information.
