Owen Sound Attack News Release
The Owen Sound Attack has named sophomore goaltender, Scott Stajcer the Becker Shoes Attacker of the Week for the week ending Monday, December 07, 2009.
Friday evening, Stajcer and the Attack made their annual visit to the Nations Capital to take on the Ottawa 67's. Although the goals were hard to come by for the Attack, Stajcer did his part by stopping 39 of 40 shots en route to being named the games 3rd Star in a 2-0 loss (1 Empty Net Goal).
Stajcer handed the reigns over to Jordan Binnington on Saturday evening but was right back between the pipes in Kingston to go head to head with his former mentor and goaltending partner, Tyler Beskorowany. It was the student who did all of the teaching Sunday as Stajcer stopped all 36 shots thrown his way while being named the games 1st star in a 2-0 win.
The New York Rangers prospect stopped 75 of 76 shots for an incredible.987 save percentage and had a sparking G.A.A. of 1.00.
The Attack is back in action at home this Wednesday when they play host to the blazing hot Barrie Colts. Game time is 7:00pm. Tickets are available by visiting or calling the Attack Box Office at (519) 371-7452 or online at www.attackhockey.com.
