RICHMOND, Va. - The Richmond Flying Squirrels' Independence Day game has sold out, the team announced on Thursday.
Tickets remain for the other five games of the Flying Squirrels' homestand next week, including additional fireworks shows on Thursday, July 7 and Saturday, July 9.
In each of their 12 seasons so far, the Flying Squirrels' Independence Day games have sold out.
"What a year 2022 has been already with the memorable playoff-clinching homestand last week," Flying Squirrels CEO Todd "Parney" Parnell said. "Now with yet another Fourth of July sellout several days in advance, this upcoming homestand looks to be another one for the record books. Many memories will be made at The Diamond."
For the Fourth of July game on Monday, the ballpark gates will open at 5 p.m. and first pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m. The Super Blast Fireworks presented by Chick-fil-A and Abilene Motor Express will begin following the conclusion of the game.
The Flying Squirrels' annual Independence Day celebration features one of the region's largest fireworks shows and has drawn capacity crowds of nearly 10,000 fans each season since the franchise's first year in 2010.
