New Hampshire Fisher Cats News Release
Portland, Maine - The Toronto Blue Jays announced Thursday that right-handed pitcher Yosver Zulueta has joined the New Hampshire Fisher Cats from High-A Vancouver. He is scheduled to make his first Double-A start on the road Thursday night against the Portland Sea Dogs.
In six starts with the Canadians, Zulueta went 1-3 with a 3.80 ERA and fanned 31 batters in 23.2 innings. He earned his first professional win in his most recent start last Thursday at Hillsboro, allowing just one run in five innings. Zulueta tossed five scoreless, one-hit innings in his first start of the month June 2 against Spokane.
The Remedios, Cuba native was signed by Toronto as an international free agent on June 11, 2019. Zulueta threw just three pitches in his stateside debut for Single-A Dunedin on May 5, 2021. He missed the remainder of last season and the beginning of this season due to injury, before returning to make three starts with Dunedin beginning April 28.
Zulueta is ranked the No. 19 prospect in the Blue Jays organization, according to MLB Pipeline. The Fisher Cats active roster now features seven players ranked among the Top 30 in the farm system.
In a corresponding move, right-handed pitcher Nick Fraze has been placed on the 7-day injured list.
The Fisher Cats return to Delta Dental Stadium for a six-game home series against the Hartford Yard Goats beginning Monday, July 4, at 7:05 p.m. Tickets for all remaining home games are available at NHFisherCats.com, via email at info@nhfishercats.com, by phone at (603) 641-2005, or in-person at the Fisher Cats box office on 1 Line Drive in Manchester.
