Springfield, IL. - The Janesville Jets had trouble finding ways to stop the Springfield Jr. Blues, which beat Jets, 4-1.
Springfield was led by Igor Vladykovskii, who grabbed one goal. Vladykovskii scored 18:03 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Springfield. Brendan Jacques assisted on the tally.
The Jr. Blues' offense was clicking better than usual and put 37 shots on goal during the game, better than the 23.0 shots per game they average.
Others who scored for Springfield included Mike Severson, Kevin Shand, and Joshua Lammon, who each put in one. More assists for Springfield came via Jack Sloan, Nik Dotolo, Max Kalter, Kyle Shreve, Trevor Stone, Davis DeKorte, and Patrick Curry, who contributed one a piece.
Janesville was led by Nick Petrella, who took one shot.
Stefanos Lekkas recorded 22 saves for Springfield. The Jr. Blues incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Jets' Brock Kautz stopped 33 shots out of the 37 that he faced. Janesville incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
