Shreveport-Bossier Captains News Release
The Shreveport Sports pounded out a season high 20 hits on their way to a 13-4 win over the Ft. Worth Cats Friday at Fair Grounds Field.
It was the first game of a three-game series and stretched the Sports winning streak to three games. Deacon Burns led the 20-hit attack with four hits while Wade Robinson had three hits, all doubles and drove in three runs and Juan Ventura also had three hits including a triple and two RBI's. The Sports broke open a 2-2 game in the third inning sending 11 batters to the plate, scoring six runs.
Mal Winters pitched seven innings in picking up his fourth win of the season. The second game of the series will be Saturday at 7:05 pm with the broadcast on the internet only.
