The Aviators pitching staff put together a solid performance Friday night. The combination of starter Pedro Flores and relievers Tim Haines, Jon Hunton and Tom Atlee allowed just one run on eight hits with two walks and 14 strikeouts. Flores pitched the first six innings and struck out 10 Saltdogs, while allowing Lincoln's only run on a solo home run by 1B Brett Cooley in the top of the sixth inning. Flores also batted once in the game and picked up his first hit of the season. Offensively the Aviators were led by lead-off CF Brian Fryer, who went 3-for-4 and scored twice.

St. Paul 8, Sioux City 3

St. Paul Manager Geroge Tsamis set the club's all-time record for wins as a manager with an 8-3 win over Sioux City. The win was Tsamis' 265th as the Saints' manager and came in relatively easy fashion. St. Paul took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning, a lead they would never surrender. Leading 2-1 in the bottom of the third, the Saints scored three runs, highlighted by a two-run home run by DH Adam Olow, his second of the season. Olow went 2-for-3 on the night with three runs and two RBI. The Explorers picked up two runs over the final two innings, but it was too little, too late. Thanks to back-to-back wins over Sioux City, the Saints now sit two games ahead of the Explorers in the North Division standings.

St. Joe 4, Sioux Falls 3

The Blacksnakes never trailed in their 4-3 win over Sioux Falls. The Canaries managed to tie the game in the top of the fifth inning by scoring two runs on four hits. But St. Joe answered right back, scoring two runs of their own in the bottom of the frame to re-take a two-run lead. Starting Blacksnakes pitcher, Rick DeHart earned his first victory of the season, pitching 6.1 innings in which he allowed three runs on three hits with a walk and four strikeouts. St. Joe C Dylan Parzyk led the way offensively, going 2-for-4 with three RBI. For the Canaries, SS Orlando Miller was 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Pensacola 2, El Paso 1 (13 innings)

El Paso and Pensacola decided that nine innings was not enough Friday night. The Diablos and Pelicans battled into the 13th inning before Pensacola's pinch hitter Bo Brown notched his second game-winning hit of the season. With the bases full of Pelicans, Brown hit a ball deep to left-center to score SS Ricardo Cordova from third and give Pensacola its ninth win of the second half. The Diablos took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first, but Pelicans pitching shut them down for the next 12 innings. Pensacola starter Andrew Edwards did not figure in the decision, but pitched six impressive innings, allowing a run on four hits with one walk and 11 strikeouts. Pelicans reliever Chris Thompson pitched the final three innings and allowed just one hit with two walks and five strikeouts to pick up his fourth win of the season.

Shreveport 13, Fort Worth 4

The game entered the bottom of the third inning in a 2-2 tie, but the Sports used six hits, including four extra-base hits, to score six runs and take a commanding 8-2 lead. The Sports led by as many as 10 runs after five innings, and eventually won by nine. Starting Sports pitcher Mal Winters earned his fourth win of the season with a seven-inning performance in which he allowed four runs, three earned, on seven hits with no walks and three strikeouts. The Sports were led offensively by CF Deacon Burns, who went 4-for-5 with a double and three runs. For the Cats, C Kelley Gulledge hit his seventh home run of the season in the second inning to notch his only hit of the night.
