Wolff, is a senior NBA writer for Sports Illustrated and SI.com, and his team, the Frost Heaves, have been chronicled in both since the idea surfaced to build an ABA team (for their story go to: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2005/writers/alexander_wolff/12/09/frost.heaves/index.html).
With all the media and acclaim, the Frost Heaves are a very good team. The come into this weekend with a 3-1 record, tied for second place with the Frenzy in the Blue North Conference. In their only loss, they held a 25 point lead at halftime before succumbing to the Quebeck Kebewa. They avenged that loss with a 117-87 thrashing of the Kebs on November 16th. Vermont is led by super fast point guard Tyrone Barley, who played with Orlando Magic guard Jameer Nelson at St. Joseph's (Atlantic 10). Other standouts include 6'7 forward Travarus Bennett (Minnesota) who was the Big Ten Co-Defensive Player of the Year, guard Tyrone Levett (Alabama State), and forward Antonio Burks (Stephen F. Austin).
The Frenzy are coming off a 109-94 victory against the Montreal Matrix in their home opener at Harwich High School. Rob Sanders, Richmond Pittman, and Jermaine Watson lead the attack for the Frenzy.
