Sporting Kansas City will host Minnesota United FC at 8 p.m. CT on Saturday at Children's Mercy Park with both teams needing a win on the final day of the regular season as the Western Conference playoff race features five teams chasing the final three playoff berths.
Tickets for Saturday's showdown are available online at SeatGeek , including recently released standing-room only tickets. Fans are encouraged to arrive early on Fan Appreciation Night with gates opening at 6 p.m. and the first 2,500 fans in attendance will receive a Sporting KC clear bag courtesy of match sponsor UMKC. In addition, Sporting Pay users will be gifted $10 in loaded value and a token for a free popcorn, and all fans in attendance can take advantage of 50% off value menu items at Children's Mercy Park concessions as well as $2 off all canned beers. The stadium lights will go out during pre-match festivities and fans can also take home a team poster courtesy of a post-match giveaway at the gates.
The Western Conference clash will be available on Apple TV in English and Spanish for MLS Season Pass subscribers. Radio coverage will also air on Sports Radio 810 WHB and La Grande 1340 AM with streams in the Sporting KC app in addition to a simulcast on SiriusXM FC. Pub partners in the Sporting Pub Network will show all of the action including a watch party at No Other Pub (1370 Grand Blvd.) in the KC Power & Light District starting at 7 p.m. and featuring $4 domestics, $5 wells and 50% off select appetizers.
October is National Bullying Prevention Month and two Sporting Kansas City players will make special appearances at local schools this week as part of the Red Card KC anti-bullying campaign established by Sporting KC and Children's Mercy. Chris Rindov will visit Prairie Star Middle School (14201 Mission Rd) in Leawood, Kansas on Monday afternoon and Danny Flores will speak with students at Arrowhead Middle School (1715 N. 82nd St.) in Kansas City, Kansas on Tuesday. Any local media interested in covering the assemblies are required to RSVP in advance using the contacts provided above.
In the buildup to Fan Appreciation Night at Children's Mercy Park, SportingStyle is offering a special this week for fans to purchase secondary jerseys at 50% off with free customization, including authentic and replica jerseys as well as youth and toddler sizes, for matchday pickup on Saturday. Sporting Kansas City goalkeeper John Pulskamp has joined the U.S. Men's Olympic National Team for a training camp in Phoenix highlighted by a match against Japan at 9:30 p.m. CT on Tuesday at Phoenix Rising Soccer Stadium. Pulskamp is part of a U-23 squad that is preparing for the 2024 Olympic Games next summer in France and tonight's match will be streamed live on ussoccer.com and U.S. Soccer's YouTube channel.
On Friday, Sporting KC Youth will host a one-day fall soccer camp from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Homefield (2115 E. Kansas City Rd.) in Olathe, KS for boys and girls of all skill levels between the ages of 5-14 years old. Registration is open online and all participants will receive an official Sporting KC Camp t-shirt.
The Sporting KC Academy U-19s will continue the UPSL season against Furati United FC at 3:30 p.m. CT on Saturday in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In addition, the U-17s and U-15s will host the Colorado Rapids on Saturday in an MLS NEXT doubleheader kicking off at 10 a.m. CT at Swope Soccer Village (6310 Lewis Rd.) in Kansas City, Missouri, while the U-14s will travel to Colorado to play the Rapids at 11 a.m. CT on Saturday before taking on Real Colorado at 10 a.m. CT on Sunday.
