Sporting Kansas City concluded the 2020 MLS regular season with a 2-0 road win over Real Salt Lake on Sunday to secure the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference for the Audi 2020 MLS Cup Playoffs.
Manager Peter Vermes' side will begin their postseason journey on Sunday, Nov. 22, hosting the No. 8 seed San Jose Earthquakes at world-class Children's Mercy Park. Kickoff is slated for 3 p.m. CT and Sporting KC Season Ticket Members have exclusive access to a ticket presale for the match that runs until 10 a.m. CT on Thursday. Remaining tickets for the contest will then go on sale to the general public via SeatGeek.com at noon CT on Thursday.
A new episode of the Sporting Kansas City Show will debut tonight at 7 p.m. CT on Sports Radio 810 WHB. Hosts Nate Bukaty, Carter Augustine and Aly Trost will hear from a Sporting guest, recap MLS Decision Day presented by AT&T and look ahead to the Audi 2020 MLS Cup Playoffs. On Wednesday, Major League Soccer will announce its finalists for the 2020 End of Year Awards, including Landon Donovan MLS MVP, AT&T Young Player of the Year, Sigi Schmid MLS Coach of the Year and more. Additionally, MLS will recognize the top plays of the season with the AT&T MLS Goal of the Year and MLS Save of the Year presented by Allstate, with voting for both awards set to run from Nov. 12-18 on MLSsoccer.com.
Sporting Kansas City fans are welcome to attend the club's premier shopping event of the year on Thursday when SportingStyle hosts the Holiday Shopping Experience at Children's Mercy Park. Taking place from 5-8 p.m. CT inside the UMB Field Club, the Holiday Shopping Experience will give supporters the opportunity to shop from a wide variety of holiday items including jerseys, jackets, sweatshirts and much more. Additionally, guests can get $50 off their purchase by spending $200 or more at the event. Fans planning to attend are asked to RSVP.
Sporting Kansas City will welcome elite college soccer players from across the country this weekend for the 2020 College Invitational Combine, a new player identification platform for clubs in Major League Soccer and the United Soccer League. The 2020 College Invitational Combine will take place Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Swope Soccer Village in Kansas City, Missouri, featuring college seniors and select underclassman competing in a multi-game event over the course of three days.
Five Sporting Kansas City Academy teams will continue their MLS Next fall seasons on Saturday, traveling to face cross-state rivals Saint Louis FC at World Wide Technology Soccer Park in Fenton, Missouri. Follow @SKCAcademy on Twitter for live updates throughout the day.
