SPORTING KC ACQUIRES JOSH GARDNER FROM MONTREAL IMPACT
Sporting Kansas City acquired defender/midfielder Josh Gardner from the Montreal Impact on in exchange for Sporting KC's highest pick in the second round of the 2013 MLS SuperDraft. The option on Gardner's contract has been exercised and he has been added to the Sporting Kansas City roster. Per club policy, terms of the agreement will not be disclosed.
Gardner, 30, began his MLS career in 2004 with the LA Galaxy as the 13th overall selection out of the University of Cincinnati. In addition to three seasons with the Galaxy, he's played for the Columbus Crew and, most recently, Montreal Impact in MLS.
SPORTING KC TRADES MICHAEL HARRINGTON TO PORTLAND TIMBERS
Sporting Kansas City announced on Monday that the club has traded Michael Harrington to the Portland Timbers in exchange for allocation money. Per club policy, financial terms of the agreements will not be disclosed.
Following a successful college career at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, Harrington was selected third overall in the 2007 MLS SuperDraft by Kansas City as Manager Peter Vermes' first draft selection. In his first season, Harrington was named the club's Rookie of the Year, starting 27 matches and recording three goals and four assists as predominantly an outside midfielder.
Harrington later made the move to outside back and finished ninth all-time in Kansas City for regular season minutes played (11,633) and games started (128, T-Josh Wolff). Harrington recorded five goals and 14 assists in six seasons with the club, including 11 appearances (nine starts) in the 2012 season for Sporting Kansas City.
SPORTING KANSAS CITY DECLINES OPTION ON KOREDE AIYEGBUSI
Sporting Kansas City announced Monday that the club will not exercise the option on Korede Aiyegbusi, making him available for the Stage One MLS Re-entry Draft on Dec. 7.
Aiyegbusi was drafted 20th overall in the second round of the 2010 MLS SuperDraft by Kansas City. He made his professional debut in the opening game of the 2010 MLS season against D.C. United. Aiyegbusi made nine appearances in his three seasons with the club and was regularly featured in Reserve League matches.

PETERSON JOSEPH TO REPRESENT HAITI AT CARIBBEAN CUP
Sporting Kansas City midfielder Peterson Joseph has been selected to the Haiti Men's National Team for the 2012 Caribbean Cup.
Joseph played in five of six matches during qualification and helped lead Haiti to a 5-1-0 record. Haiti are in Group A with Antigua & Barbuda, Haiti, Trinidad & Tobago, and Dominican Republic. Les Grenadiers (Haiti) will play Trinidad & Tobago on Dec.7, Dominican Republic on Dec. 9 and hosts Antigua & Barbuda on Dec. 11.
The top two teams from each group will reach the knockout phase (semifinals) and clinch a spot in the 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup. The semifinals are scheduled for Dec. 14 with the third place and final set for Dec. 16.
Haiti won the Caribbean Cup in 2007 but have failed to get out of the group stage in the last two tournaments (2008, 2010).
KEI DOCUMENTARY TO BE SHOWN ON DEC. 9 AT LEGENDS 14 THEATRE
Join Sporting KC forward Kei Kamara from 1:30 - 4:00 p.m. CT on Sunday, Dec. 9 at the Legends 14 Theatre for a special screening of his documentary KEI. Sporting KC items will be auctioned off to benefit Kamara's charity of choice, Schools for Salone, which works to build schools for children in Sierra Leone.
SPORTING KC ANNOUNCES 2013 PRE-SEASON DESTINATIONS
Sporting Kansas City will travel to Tucson, Ariz. and Orlando, Fla. for the team's 2013 pre-season. The team will arrive in Tucson on Jan. 20 for a two-week stay and will participate in The Desert Friendlies presented by FC Tucson against other MLS competition at the Kino Sports Complex. The matches will be open to the public with tickets to go on sale later this month.

After returning home to Kansas City on Feb. 2, the club will depart for the second leg of the 2013 pre-season in Orlando on Feb. 7. Sporting Kansas City will be one of several MLS teams once again competing in the 2013 Disney Pro Soccer Classic at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex from Feb. 9-23. Sporting Kansas City supporters can follow the club to Central Florida to see the team compete in the tournament while enjoying all of the world class attractions Orlando has to offer.
