Sporting KC II Signs SKC Academy Player Brandon Munson to an MLS NEXT Pro Amateur Contract

Sporting Kansas City II announced today that the club has signed Sporting Kansas City Academy player Brandon Munson to an MLS NEXT Pro amateur contract.

MLS NEXT Pro amateur contracts are on a single-game basis, preserving Munson's NCAA eligibility. He will be available for selection on Sunday for Sporting Kansas City II's home match against Houston Dynamo 2.

Munson joined the Sporting Kansas City Academy ahead of the 2023-24 season. He has played for the U-19s, helping the team win the 2023 UPSL Oklahoma-Arkansas Fall regular season title. Munson appeared in an SKC II preseason match in March, playing 60 minutes in a 5-1 win over Central Methodist University.

Sporting Kansas City II is set to take on Houston Dynamo 2 at Children's Mercy Victory Field on Sunday evening. Tickets are on sale at SeatGeek.com and the match can be streamed at MLSNEXTPro.com.
