
Sponsors set for PrairieThunder exhibition game

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Skeff Distributing of Decatur will be the presenting sponsor for the International Hockey League exhibition game between the Bloomington PrairieThunder and Quad City Mallards on Oct. 10 at the Decatur Civic Center, it was announced Tuesday.
Also announced as sponsors for the 7 p.m. game, which will serve as a fund-raiser for the Decatur Youth Hockey Association, were Rob Lipic State Farm Insurance, Millennium Pain Center, T.D. Crane, Horve Builders, TSI Underground, Striglos Companies, Inc., the Decatur Conference Center, Jay's Hawaiian Shaved Ice, Bodine Services of the Midwest, Mancino's Pizza and Grinders, Mt. Zion Woodrow Chiropractic and Woodrow Chiropractic.
"We are pleased to put our name on this event as the presenting sponsor," said Skeff Distributing owner John Skeffington. "We are excited about professional hockey coming to Decatur and being able to assist in exposing the Bloomington PrairieThunder to folks in and around Decatur. We are also thrilled to be associated with an event that will benefit youth hockey in Decatur."
Admission for the game is $10 for adults, which includes a voucher for a free youth (12 and under) ticket, and $5 for additional youth. Tickets are on sale at Rob Lipic State Farm Insurance, 1212 E. Pershing Road, Decatur or by calling 309-585-0507, ext. 304.
"We took a group of players from our youth league to a PrairieThunder game last year and they had a blast," said Bryan Mikeworth, president of the Decatur Youth Hockey Association. "We are excited about the PrairieThunder coming to play a game in our rink.
"We are working closely with the PrairieThunder to make this a first-class event and continue to build a strong relationship with them. It should be an exciting night for everyone with a lot of talented professional players on the ice."
The PrairieThunder will wear specialty games jerseys decorated with the Decatur Flames logo and sponsor names on them. The jerseys will be auctioned off to the highest bidders following the game with a portion of the proceeds going to the Decatur Youth Hockey Association.
