
Spokane Evens Series with AquaSox

SPOKANE, WA: The Spokane Indians collected a season-high 15 hits en route to a 9-3 win over the AquaSox before a crowd of 1,759 at Avista Stadium. The six-game series is tied at a game apiece.
Spokane jumped out to an early 3-0 lead on a three-run home run from Trevor Boone in the bottom of the second inning. Boone had begun the season 1-for-16 with seven strikeouts, but he reached base five times in the game. He finished the game, 2-for-2 with two walks; he was hit by a pitch, scored twice, and had four RBI.
It was another tough outing for AquaSox starting pitcher Marcelo Perez (0-2). He was unable to make it out of the third inning. In 2 2/3 innings he allowed nine hits, six runs (all earned), he walked one and struck out one while throwing 59 pitches.
The AquaSox got on the board in the third inning. Axel Sanchez led off with a double and later scored from third base on an errant pickoff throw from Spokane catcher Bryant Betancourt.
Everett pulled to within 8-3 in the sixth inning on a two-out two-run single to left from Gabriel Moncada.
Spokane starting pitcher Blake Adams (1-0) picked up the win. He went five innings and scattered three hits. He allowed one run, walked three and struck out five.
The AquaSox finished with six hits. Sanchez batted 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored.
