Reid Boucher scored in the sixth round of the shootout, as the Sarnia Sting escaped the WFCU Centre with a 3-2 win on Monday afternoon in front of 5,283.
Derek Schoenmakers (2) and Ben Johnson (2) scored for the Spitfires (3-3-0-2), who earned a point but lost for the third consecutive game.
After a scoreless 20 minutes, Schoenmakers got Windsor on the board at 2:39 of the second period, banging home a rebound off an Emerson Clark shot.
Nick Latta tied things up just 24 seconds later for Sarnia (3-3-0-1), before Reid Boucher (18:42) made it 2-1 Sting on the power play.
Johnson's goal 19 seconds into the third period made it 2-2.
It stayed that way until Boucher beat Jaroslav Pavelka low to the blocker side to end the game.
Schoenmakers, Kerby Rychel, Josh Ho-Sang, Michael Clarke, Brady Vail and Clark all missed shootout attempts for the Spits.
Pavelka made 31 saves in a losing cause. JP Anderson stopped 32 for the win.
