
Spitfires Trade DeAngelis and O'Dell to Sudbury in Exchange for Conor Walton and Picks

WINDSOR, ON. - The Windsor Spitfires have traded Nick DeAngelis and Trevor O'Dell in exchange for Conor Walton, a 2024 2nd round pick (NIA), a 2025 3rd round pick (GUE), a 2025 6th round pick (SBY), a 2026 2nd round pick (WSR) and a conditional 15th round pick (SBY).
The Spitfires have acquired Conor Walton who is a native of Toronto, Ontario. Walton was drafted by the Sudbury Wolves in the 2022 OHL Priority Selection Draft in the 4th round 82nd overall. Walton appeared in 4 regular season games last year and was a plus 3. This season he played in four preseason games with the Wolves and collected one assist.
Bowler spoke on the acquisition of Conor to the defensive corps.
"He is a kid we liked in his draft year, he is a big body and a strong defender." Bill Bowler said. "He will get every opportunity to play in our league and we welcome him to the Spitfires."
DeAngelis amassed 130 games in the regular season and recorded 6 goals and 33 assists on the backend. In the playoffs, DeAngelis played in 28 games over two seasons and recorded 5 assists. The defenceman was invited to the Columbus Blue Jackets rookie camp and earned himself an invitation to the teams' main camp before being sent back to Windsor.
Bill Bowler spoke on the trade.
"It's a tough day losing such a quality young man like Nick DeAngelis." Bill Bowler said. "He is coming back from a strong NHL camp and he will have a great opportunity in Sudbury. We wish him the best."
The Spitfires are back in action on the road on September 29th in Sarnia for a 7:05pm puck drop before the home opener on Saturday September 30th vs the Guelph Storm. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05pm.
