Windsor Spitfires News Release
The Spitfires desperately needed a win in order to keep their playoff hopes alive. However, the Battalion were coming in red-hot winning their last 4 of 5 games. On Thursday, North Bay would take both points in a convincing 7-2 win.
In the first period, it was all North Bay, they would score four goals with two on special teams and take a commanding 4-0 lead.
In the second period, the Battalion would score to go up 5-0. With just three minutes left in the period, the Spitfires would score to cut the lead to 5-1. Abraham fed Greentree and he found Spellacy in front of the net for his 17th on the season. After 40 minutes the shots were tied 25-25.
In the third period, the Battalion would add 2 more for a 7-1 lead. Late in the game, Struthers would snipe his first as a Spitfire with a beautiful move and shot. However, that would do it and North Bay would take this one 7-2.
The Spitfires are back in action tomorrow in Sudbury. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05pm
