
Spitfires Fall to Guelph 5-2

The Spitfires rested a few key players and eased into playoffs injury free.
In the first period the Storm scored late in the period and out shot the Spits 13-8.
In the 2nd period, the Spitfires got on the board just over five minutes in on the powerplay. Johnston scored his 46th on the season from Renwick and D'Amico. Just seven minutes later Guelph scored to take a 2-1 lead heading into the intermission.
In the third period, the Storm scored two goals within 5:30 and one on a 5 on 3 powerplay to take a 4-1. Late in the game Christopoulos sniped his 14th on the season from Maillet to make it a 4-2 game. Just under a minute later the Storm scored on the empty net to take this one 5-2.
The Spitfires are back in action on Thursday for game one of the playoffs versus Sarnia or Erie.
