WINDSOR, ON. - It was a close game throughout the sixty minutes, but Flint managed to hang on to a narrow 4-3 win.

In the first period, the Spitfires outshot the Firebirds 13-10 but Cavallin made some key saves to keep it a close game. Flint opened the scoring just 13 minutes into the game. But the Spitfires responded late in the period to knot it up at one a piece. Abraham had a nice give and go with Miedema and Abrham drove the net and tucked the puck five-hole. Renwick had the 2nd assist.

In the second period, the Spitfires got on the powerplay early and scored just 25 seconds in to get a 2-1 lead. It was Johnston's 9th of the postseason from Cuylle and Henault. The Firebirds followed that up with 3 goals themselves to take a 4-2 lead. Very late in the 2nd period with under a minute to go, D'Amico passed back to Henault at the point who shot the puck wide of the net and the puck bounced off the end boards to the stick of Abraham who sniped his 2nd of the night.

In the third period, both teams battled hard looking for the games next goal but it couldn't be found be either team. The Spitfires pulled the netminder and had a powerplay for the last 25 seconds but couldn't bury it and Flint held on for the victory.

The Spitfires and Firebirds are back in action on Monday at 7:05pm for Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals.
