Windsor Spitfires News Release
General Manager Warren Rychel has made the club's first deal of the off-season, sending winger Sam Studnicka to the Ottawa 67s for a 5th Round Pick in 2015. Studnicka, 18, played in 73 career games with the Spitfires, including a career-high 59 in 2012-13.
"This is a great opportunity for Sam to get more icetime with a young, skilled team like the 67s," Rychel said. "On behalf of the Spitfire organization, I'd like to thank Sam for his two years of service with our club. We wish him all the best in Ottawa."
Originally Windsor's 5th Round pick, 86th overall, in the 2011 OHL Priority Selection, Studnicka posted career numbers of two goals and 11 assists with 50 penalty minutes and a -20 rating, playing mainly in a defensive role.
