Spirit Wrap up Three-Game Weekend against Rangers Sunday

Saginaw, MI - The Spirit return to the ice Sunday evening facing the Kitchener Rangers for the first of four matchups this season. Puck drop is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Robotics Night presented Hemlock Semiconductor at The Dow Event Center.

The Spirit suffered their largest defeat of the 2021-22 season on Saturday night at The Dow, falling to Sarnia, 6-1. Ty Voit and Nolan Burke each had three points, while Nolan Dann notched a goal and an assist for the Sting. Saginaw's lone goal came in the third period on a power play tally from overage forward Nick Wong.

The Rangers got back in the win column Saturday night, besting the Flint Firebirds on the road, 4-2. Rookie goaltender Jackson Parsons made 40 stops and was the game's first star. Reid Valade scored three points for the Rangers attack (2G-1A). Overage defenseman Arber Xhekaj (jack-eye) and veteran forward Mike Petizian each scored a goal and an assist.

Tonight is Robotics Night presented by Hemlock Semi-Conductor. Local area Robotics teams will be invited to the game to show off their robot building talents and a robot will drop the ceremonial first puck.
