Spirit Win 4-3 to Tighten Gap in Series

Mitch Fillman scored the game-winning goal that edged the Saginaw Spirit 4-3 over the Kitchener Rangers. The Rangers hold a 3-2 lead in the series.

After a scoreless first period Saginaw netted three unanswered goals in the second to take a 3-0 lead over the Rangers. Vincent Trocheck one-timed the puck to open up the scoring at 2:17. Jordan Szwarz went top shelf with the Spirit's second goal and Jordan Hill followed up with a power play marker at 17:26.

Fillman scored his first goal of the playoffs at the 2:39 mark of the third period to give Saginaw a 4-0 lead. The Rangers rallied with three goals to get within one goal of the Spirit with 52-seconds left in the game. Goals came from Jeff Skinner, Gabriel Landeskog and Jeremy Morin.

The Rangers travel to Saginaw on Sunday, March 28th to face the Spirit in game six at 4:00pm. If necessary they will return to The Aud on Tuesday, March 30th for game seven at 7:30pm. Tickets for game seven will go on sale Monday, March 29th at 10am.
