
Spirit Take Rivals on the Road in Overtime

The Saginaw Spirit took on the Soo Greyhounds on Wednesday night, winning on the road in overtime 4 - 3.
Both Western Conference teams came out strong in the first period; however the Greyhounds were able to score first by Andrew Fritsch, with an assist from Michael Schumacher. Andrew Fritsch scored another goal for the Soo which was assisted by Ryan Sproul and Nick Cousins. The first period ended Soo 2 - Saginaw 0.
The second period opened up with a goal for the Spirit by Terry Trafford, assisted by Jason Shaw. The second ended Soo 2 - Saginaw 1.
The Spirit and the Greyhounds came out with a solid effort in the third; however the Greyhounds scored first in the period on the power play by Ryan Sproul, with assists coming from Nick Cousins and Colin Miller. The Spirit followed with a goal from Florida Panthers prospect, Vince Trocheck, assisted by Terry Trafford. The Spirit tied up the game with a goal by Buffalo Sabres prospect, Justin Kea, with assists coming from Jason Shaw and Jacob Ringuette. The third period ended Saginaw 3 - Soo 3.
The rivals headed into overtime after a strong game from both teams. The Spirit were able to score the final goal of the game by Terry Trafford, his second of the night, with assists coming from Vince Trocheck and Brandon Prophet. The game ended Saginaw 4 - Soo 3, with shots on goal, Soo 44 - Saginaw 32.
