
Spirit Receive Commitment from 2018 Draft Pick Ian Lemieux

Saginaw, Michigan - Saginaw Spirit General Manager Dave Drinkill announced Saturday the team has signed 2018 sixth round pick (105th overall) Ian Lemieux to a Standard Player Agreement and Education Package.
"As an organization, we are pleased that Ian and his family have committed to the Saginaw Spirit, said Drinkill. "He came in and really impressed our staff during training camp. When we returned him to Jr A, he has done everything we have asked him to do and he has earned this opportunity. We are looking forward to seeing him in a Saginaw uniform."
Lemieux, 16, played last season for York Simcoe Express Minor Midget AAA, where in 28 games, the 6'0, 176-pound defenseman scored three goals and added 12 assists for 15 points.
This season, Lemieux has been skating with the Stouffville Spirit in OJHL (Jr. A), where he as appeared in 20 games with two assists and 32 penalty minutes.
Lemieux will wear No. 7 and make his Spirit debut Sunday afternoon when the Spirit face the Owen Sound Attack at Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre. Puck drop is set for 2:00 p.m.
