Spirit Host Storm on Billet Appreciation Night

Saginaw, Mich. - The Saginaw Spirit (22-40-1-0) wraps up their season series with the Guelph Storm (31-23-5-2) Sunday afternoon at The Dow Event Center for Billet Appreciation Night. Puck drop is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.

Head-to-Head

Guelph is looking to sweep a season series against Saginaw for the first time since the 2003-04 season, after winning the first four meetings with the Spirit this season. Their last meeting, the Storm shutout the Spirit by a 3-0 score on Feb. 18. Just six days earlier, a five-goal, first period for the Storm led them to a 7-3 victory at The Dow.

Last Time Out

Saginaw: The Saginaw Spirit kept their playoff hopes alive with a 5-4 win Saturday night over the Sarnia Sting. Defenseman Brayden Hislop and rookie Luke McNamara led the way offensively for the Spirit with three points apiece. Mitchell Smith provided two goals from the back end, scoring his fourth goal and seventh point in the last two games against Sarnia. Andrew Oke made 17 saves for Saginaw to earn his 13th win of the season.

Guelph: The Storm kept pace with the Owen Sound Attack with a 5-1 win Saturday night in Flint over the Firebirds. Guelph is one point pack of the Attack for the fifth place spot in the Western Conference with three games in hand. Goaltender Jacob Oster was the story last night, earning first star honors with a career-high, 43-save performance. Anaheim Ducks prospect Sasha Pastujov scored a goal and two assists to lead the way for the Storm.
