Saginaw, Mich. - The Saginaw Spirit (32-24-2-2), host the Erie Otters (20-33-1-5) Thursday, March 9, at the Dow Event Center.

Saginaw scored seven unanswered goals in a 7-3 win against the Kingston Frontenacs Sunday, March 5, at Leon's Centre.Saginaw's Matyas Sapovaliv scored two goals while Hunter Haight netted two goals and an assist. Erie lost 4-1 to the Flint Firebirds Wednesday, March 8, at the Dort Financial Center. Sam Alfano scored the lone goal while Nolan Lalonde stopped 17 of 21 shots faced. With the loss, the Otters were officially eliminated from playoff contention.

This is the fourth and final matchup between these two teams, with Saginaw leading the series, 2-1. In the most recent game, which took place on February 8, saw Saginaw win 4-3 at home. In that game, Saginaw's Zayne Parekh potted a goal and an assist. Roberto Mancini scored the game-winner with under two minutes to go. Tristan Lennox got the nod for the Spirit, stopping 20 of 23 shots faced. Malcom Spence and Carey Terrance each netted a goal and an assist for the Otters. Nolan Lalonde started for Erie, letting in four goals on 26 shots.
Players to Watch:
Hunter Haight has continued his consistency, scoring six points (3G, 3A) in his last four games. The Minnesota Wild pick is fourth in all scoring aspects for Saginaw. Dean Loukus' 51 points and 36 assists are the most for any Spirit skater. Matyas Sapovaliv leads the team in goals (24), and has eight tallies in his last ten games. Tristan Lennox has the best goals against average (GAA) with a 3.19. Andrew Oke holds the highest save percentage (SV%) with an .893.
Erie's Pano Fimis has the most points (45) and assists (30) for his team. Carey Terrance leads the Otters with 27 goals. Jacob Gibbins holds top goaltending marks, posting a 3.17 GAA and an .879 SV%.
Saginaw has three (3) players drafted into the National Hockey League (NHL), including Matyas Sapovaliv (Vegas), Tristan Lennox (New York Islanders), and Hunter Haight (Minnesota).
