
Spirit Forward Estefania Banini to Miss Remainder of 2015 NWSL Season Due to Knee Surgery

BOYDS, Md. (May 8, 2015) - Forward Estefania Banini will miss the remainder of the 2015 NWSL season and is set to undergo knee surgery to repair cartilage in her right knee. Banini is expected to be out for 5-6 months and will not return to play for the Spirit this season.
"Estefi is a very important player to us and she will be hugely missed this season," said head coach Mark Parsons. "With the support of our expert medical team at Metro Orthopedics and Sports Therapy (MOST) we know she is in the best hands."
Banini played in all four matches of the season for the Spirit logging 308 minutes. In that time she registered 7 shots and 3 shots on goal.
