Peterborough Petes News Release
(Peterborough, ON) - Max Grondin scored twice against his former club but the Petes by a narrow 5-4 score to the Saginaw Spirit at the Peterborough Memorial Centre on Thursday night.
Grondin (9, 10), Cameron Butler (12), and Ryan Merkley (8) all scored for the Petes.
Chad Denault and Declan Chisholm both collected two assists, while Cole Fraser, Semyon Der-Arguchintsev, and John Parker-Jones each had one assist.
Final shots were 38-30 in favour of Saginaw. Tye Austin stopped 33 of 37 shots. The Petes were 1/3 on the power play and 2/4 on the penalty kill.
The Petes head north to visit the Sudbury Wolves on Friday, January 25 at 7:05pm and the Soo Greyhounds on Saturday, January 26 at 7:07pm. They return to home ice for a rare Wednesday night game on January 30 at 7:05pm when they host Peterborough the Hamilton Bulldogs.
