Lynn, MA – Les Capitales de Quebec rebounded from Wednesday night's tough defeat to even their best of five, first round playoff series with the North Shore Spirit 1-1. Paul Jacinto pitched eight innings of one-run baseball as Quebec outlasted the Spirit 8-2.

Quebec got out of the gates quickly against Calvert. Benoit Emond leadoff with a basehit and Goefrey Tomlinson followed with an RBI double to the gap in right center. Two batters later, Eddie Lantigua delivered a RBI single, putting Quebec ahead 2-0.

North Shore cut the lead in half in the fourth. Vic Davilla drove home Nelson Teilon, who reached on a Jacinto throwing error, with the Spirit's first run.

Frank Charles pulled North Shore even in the seventh. With runners on first and second, Charles smashed a Jacinto offering down the line in left for a run-scoring double.

Quebec regained the lead in the top of the eighth on one swing of the bat from Rickie Morton. With Buck McNabb on first, Morton launched a hanging breaking ball over the wall in left for his first homerun of the postseason.

In the ninth, Quebec tacked on four runs thanks to a pair of two-run homeruns from Morton and Shane Hopper.
