Spirit Defeat London Knights 3-2

(Saginaw, MI) The Saginaw Spirit beat the London Knights 3-2 Saturday night at TheDow Event Center. Winger Jordan Skellett contributed a goal and two assists, while winger Jordan Szwarz added a goal and an assist in the effort. Center Ivan Telegin, also added a goal in the victory. The win moves the team's record to 14-6-2-0 and a total of 30 points for the season.

Saginaw opened the scoring midway through the first, with a goal from winger Jordan Skellett at 9:48. He was assisted on the goal by wingers Jordan Szwarz (NHL PHEONIX COYOTES) and Joe Pleckaitis. Skellett's tally would prove to be the only goal of the period, which ended 1-0.

Saginaw center Ivan Telegin scored at 8:42 of the second period, adding to the Spirit lead. Telegin, who leads the OHL in rookie scoring, was assisted by defenseman Nick Trecapelli and winger Jordan Skellett. The Spirit scored again late in the period on a goal from Szwarz at 17:13. Skellett was credited with the only assist on the goal. The second period ended with Saginaw leading 3-0.

The Knights got on the board late in the third with a goal from winger Colin Martin at 15:05. He was assisted by defenseman Matt Ashman and winger Leigh Salters. London scored again on a tally from Ashman at 19:25. Assists on the goal were credited to center Nazem Kadri (NHL TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS) and winger Colin Martin. The game ended with the Spirit winning 3-2.

Saginaw goalie Edward Pasquale (NHL ATLANTA THRASHERS) finished with 38 saves while London goaltender Michael Houser posted 22 saves for the game.
