Windsor, Ont. - The Saginaw Spirit (29-12-0-1) take on the Windsor Spitfires (13-25-3-1) on the road at the WFCU Centre on January 25th.

Last Time:

Saginaw's last game was a 7-2 road victory over the Kingston Frontenacs at Leon's Center on January 21st. Saginaw and Kingston started off with early goals setting up a 1-1 tie heading into the first intermission. Saginaw scored three times in the second to Kingston's one and added three more goals in the third to finish off the road win. Alex Christopoulos finished with three points (2G, 1A). Owen Beck and Joey Willis both finished with one-and-one nights and Nolan Lalonde started for the Spirit, turning away 27 of 29 shots in the win.

Windsor's last game was a 5-0 loss to the Oshawa Generals on January 21st at Tribute Communities Centre in Oshawa. The Generals scored once in the first, once and the second, then piled on three in the third to seal the win. Max Donoso guarded the net for the Spitfires, stopping 47 of 52 shots in the loss.

This Season:

Saginaw and Windsor last faced off on January 10th at the WFCU Centre, where the Spirit rolled over the Spitfires, 11-3. Both teams opened the scoring early, entering the first intermission with Saginaw leading 3-2. The second period saw the Spirit score four straight times in eight minutes without giving up a goal, entering the final frame up 7-2. Saginaw added four third period goals to set the 11-3 score.

The newly acquired center Owen Beck collected six points (2G, 4A) for the second time in his OHL career. Zayne Parekh scored his second hat-trick of the year, adding two assists for five points, and Michael Misa scored twice in a three-point night. Andrew Oke tended the goal net for the Spirit, stopping 18 of 21 shots in the win.

Players to Watch:

Zayne Parekh continues his stellar draft eligible season with a team leading 22 goals and 42 assists for a team leading 64 points. Michael Misa is tied with Parekh for the team's goal lead with 22, and leads the team with nine powerplay goals. Owen Beck continues to fill the scoresheet since being acquired, tallying 13 points (4G, 9A) in the six games since coming over from Peterborough. Andrew Oke continues to lead in all major goaltending categories including a 2.98 goals against average (GAA), a .892 save percentage (SV%), and 18 wins.

Captain Liam Greentree currently leads Windsor in goals, assists, and points (24G-33A-57P). Former Saginaw forward Valentin Zhugin has totaled 12 points (5G, 7A) in 19 games since being acquired by Windsor. Cole Davis ranks seventh in OHL rookie points (22), including 12 goals and ten assists. Joey Costanzo leads in all major goaltending categories, including a 4.94 GAA, a .852 SV%, and eight wins.

Saginaw currently has ten players tied to the National Hockey League (NHL), including Joey Willis (Nashville), Josh Bloom (Vancouver), Matyas Sapovaliv (Vegas), Hunter Haight (Minnesota), Owen Beck (Montreal), Ethan Hay (Tampa Bay), Braden Haché (Florida), Jorian Donovan (Ottawa), Rodwin Dionicio (Anaheim), and Nolan Lalonde (Columbus, FA).

Windsor currently has two players with NHL ties in Pasquale Zito (Detroit) and Djibril Toure (Ottawa, FA).
