Sault Ste. Marie, Ont. - The Saginaw Spirit fell 5-0 in Game 6 of their second-round series against the Soo Greyhounds Sunday night. Gavin Hayes scored twice on the powerplay, Jack Beck finished with three points (1G, 2A), and Jacob Frasca added an assist and the game-winning goal in the first. Nolan Lalonde started for Saginaw, stopping 29 of 34, while Charlie Schenkel stopped all 24 Spirit shots.

Late into the first period, the Soo won a faceoff in the Saginaw zone and looked for one more chance before the end of the period. Jack Beck controlled the puck along the bench sideboards and fed a pass to the slot, finding Jacob Frasca. The Greyhounds' winger received the pass and then let loose a shot that beat goaltender Nolan Lalonde before the final buzzer could sound, giving the Soo their first lead of the game, 1-0.

AFTER 1: SAG 0 - 1 SOO (Total Shots: 6 - 12)

Jack Beck scored his second goal of the series at 4:02 of the second frame. Christopher Brown and Bryce McConnell-Barker helped to force a turnover in the offensive zone, and the Greyhounds jumped ahead 2-0.

A powerplay goal with James Guo in the box for holding would give the Greyhounds three. Jacob Frasca and Jack Beck helped the puck to Gavin Hayes in the slot, and the Blackhawks prospect beat Lalonde for the 3-0 lead.

At 16:04 of the second period, another powerplay goal from Gavin Hayes would send the Soo up by four.

Marco Mignosa slipped through the Spirit defense at 19:41 and beat Lalonde for the 5-0 lead to cap period two.

AFTER 2: SAG 0 - 5 SOO (2nd period shots: 5 - 14, Total Shots: 11 - 26)

Despite Saginaw's best efforts and a third period shot advantage, the Soo Greyhounds held off the Spirit to complete the Game 6 win.

Powerplay: SAG 0/5 - 2/6 SOO
