
Spinners, Tigers Rained Out Tuesday Night

NORWICH, CONN. - The Lowell Spinners and Connecticut Tigers were rained out Tuesday night at Dodd Stadium in Norwich, with both teams heading north for the third and final game of the opening series at LeLacheur Park for the Spinners' home opener.
The two teams will meet in the rare one-game series at LeLacheur Park for an estimated 7:20 first pitch.
Tuesday's scheduled starting pitcher, Mario Alcantara, is scheduled to make his New York-Penn League Debut for the Spinners with the Tigers starter still to be determined.
Opening Day festivities for the Spinners will include a special moment of remembrance for the victims of the Boston Marathon attack and a special ceremonial first pitch from Watertown Chief of Police Edward Deveau and members of his staff will throw out a ceremonial pitch.
The first 1,000 fans will receive a magnetic schedule and the street team from WROR 105.7 FM will be on hand. Following the game will be the Spinners first post-game fireworks show of the season, one of 11 set for the year.
