Spinners game for August 29 cancelled
August 29, 2009 - New York-Penn League (NYPL)
Lowell Spinners News Release
LOWELL, MA - While no longer a hurricane, Tropical Storm Danny has soaked New England, forcing the Lowell Spinners to cancel their August 29 game against the Hudson Valley Renegades. There is no make-up date scheduled for the game.
This evening's regularly scheduled Extreme Blue the Frisbee Dog Bobble Head Giveaway, sponsored by Belvidere Veterinary Hospital, has been pushed back to a potential home playoff game.
The Spinners currently hold a four game lead over the Oneonta Tigers in the Stedler Division standings with nine games to play. Their magic number is seven.
The rainout is the first of the 2009 season for the Spinners, who have remarkably not been delayed or postponed through their first 34 home games despite rain on the day of or during the game on 26 of their home dates.
Any fans holding a ticket for the August 29 game may exchange that ticket in person for a ticket of equal or lesser value to any remaining 2009 regular season home game, or potential home playoff games, based on availability. If a fan receives a lesser value ticket, the fan will receive the difference back in Spinners Dollars. Tickets can not be exchanged for Spinners Dollars unless all remaining tickets to the last three home games are sold.
For example: If the fan had a $8 ticket and exchanged it for a $5 seat then the fan will receive an additional $3 back in Spinners Dollars. Spinners Dollars can be used at concession and merchandise stands and will expire on December 31 of this year.
