Lowell Spinners News Release

BROOKLYN, N.Y. - On Thursday night, the Lowell Spinners, proud affiliate of the 2018 World Champion Boston Red Sox, were riding high after clinching a winning record on the road trip by winning the third game of four against the Brooklyn Cyclones, affiliate of the New York Mets, but were looking for the series sweep to put the icing on the cake.

The Spinners (29-16), however, were unable to do so, falling to the the Cyclones (26-19) by a final of 6-1 in the final game of their 11-game, 10-day road trip.

Bryan Lucas got the start on the mound for Lowell and he went four innings, allowing four runs (all earned) on four hits with two strikeouts and two walks to boot. With the loss, he falls to 4-3.

The Spinners bats were uncharacteristically quiet on Thursday night, but they were able to muster just four hits in the losing effort. The hits came from Gilberto Jimenez, who extended his hitting streak to 11 games with a bunt single, Cameron Cannon, Nick Decker and Jecorrah Arnold.

After being shutout for the first three innings, Arnold singled to left field - scoring Northcut from second base. At the time it made the score 4-1.

The Cyclones scored once in the first, three times in the fourth, once in the fifth and once in the seventh with the nail in the Spinners' coffin coming in the form of a solo home run off the bat of Yoel Romero.

The Spinners return to LeLacheur Park on Thursday night for "Daddy Daughter Princess Night" which includes a parade and pictures with all of the most popular princesses. First pitch on Friday night is at 7:05 p.m.

The Lowell Spinners, proud affiliate of the 2018 World Champion Boston Red Sox, offer Season Ticket Packages, Mini-Plans, Group Sales, and Single Game Tickets.
