BOUCHERVILLE, Wednesday, December 1, 2010 ¬" The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League Disciplinary Prefect, Raymond Bolduc, today suspended Cape Breton Screaming Eagles defenseman Spencer Metcalfe for two games for inappropriate comments which were directed towards Olivier Dame-Malka in the heat of the moment during last night's game.
Moreover, the organization has been fined $500. Finally, Spencer Metcalfe will contact Olivier Dame-Malka to apologize.
"The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League created an antidiscrimination policy in December of 2006 in order to ban all forms of discrimination," commented Commissioner Gilles Courteau. "Our policy is based on the principle of zero tolerance and it applies to all comments which are deemed inappropriate. All of our participants must be treated with respect and dignity."
