Western New York Flash News Release

ELMA, N.Y. (Monday, November 2, 2015) - The Western New York Flash saw two players from its 2015 team selected in the NWSL Expansion Draft on Monday afternoon, as newly-introduced club Orlando Pride added Jasmyne Spencer and Jamia Fields to its roster.

Spencer, 25, was selected with the No. 4 draft pick by Orlando. A graduate of the University of Maryland, Spencer was signed as a free agent in 2014 after spending her first NWSL year with the Washington Spirit. In two seasons with the Flash, Spencer totaled six goals and two assists.

After the Spencer pick, the Flash added forward Elizabeth Eddy to the protected list.

Orlando then selected their second, and final, player from the Flash, forward Jamia Fields with the No. 5 pick. Fields returns to the state of Florida, where she was a National Champion with Florida State University. Drafted by the Boston Breakers last year, Fields was another player signed as a free agent by the Flash, being picked up at the start of the 2015 season. She finished her rookie campaign with one goal.

"Jasmyne and Jamia were two players that we brought to our club and both players contributed strongly to the team during their time here," said Flash Head Coach Aaran Lines. "While we are sad to see them both leave Western New York, we wish them the best of luck with this opportunity in Orlando."
