DENVER - The Colorado Mammoth failed to score on the power-play at Air Canada Centre on Friday night, and allowed the East Division-leading Toronto Rock to score six on the man-up. The Mammoth's 14-10 defeat was the team's fifth in a row, dropping its record to 2-7.

"I thought the effort was there," said Mammoth head coach Bob Hamley. "I thought we did everything we could to win that game and, for whatever reason, we can't seem to get over that hump."

After scoring four straight in the first quarter and leading by two at the end of the frame, the Mammoth pushed its lead to 5-2 on a John Grant Jr. goal 59 ticks into the second. Toronto scored seven of the next eight in the quarter, taking a 9-6 lead into halftime.

Colorado forward Adam Jones cut the deficit to one early in the fourth quarter with his second goal. Grant's tally, his fourth, was waived off after the Rock challenged the apparent equalizer. The Mammoth was held scoreless the rest of the way.

The team takes on the Bandits on Saturday night at 5:30pm MST at First Niagara Center in Buffalo.
