Special Olympics Benefit Bowling Tournament

July 22, 2004 - arenafootball2 (af2)
Tulsa Talons News Release

The Tulsa Talons will host their first ever benefit bowling tournament on July 30 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at Riverlanes Bowling Center on 87th and Lewis. The purpose of the tournament is to raise funds for the Special Olympics of Oklahoma. Tulsa Talons players and staff, along with local celebrities and Special Olympics athletes, will be playing in the tournament. Spots will also be available for corporate sponsors and Talons fans to purchase.

Sponsoring a lane of players costs $200. To sponsor one player, the cost is $75. This includes food and the cost of bowling. Companies may sponsor a lane of six players, and send one or two players from their organization to play in that lane. That person/s will be put on a team with Talons players, a Special Olympics athlete, and other tournament participants. When a lane sponsorship is purchased, a sign will be placed on the lane, entitling it, “Your Company’s Name Lane.”

During the tournament, a silent auction will be held to raise additional funds for the Special Olympics of Oklahoma. Autographed footballs and other fantastic sports paraphernalia will be sold to the highest bidder. Also, a drawing will be held to give away a one-night stay at the new Renaissance Tulsa Hotel on 169 between 61st and 71st.

Come out and support your Tulsa Talons and the local branch of one of the nation’s most important charities, the Special Olympics. Please contact the Talons office for the Special Olympics tax ID number. Thank you.
