Sox Fall to First Place Royals

The Sky Sox fell to the Omaha Royals on Friday Night, 10-6, at Rosenblatt Stadium. Over 22,000 fans were on hand to watch the Sox battle back from a 6-1 defecit, only to allow 4 Omaha runs in the bottom of the 8th to seal the game. Doug Thompson, in his first ever AAA appearance, allowed 4 runs (all earned) on 1 hit and 4 walks in 1.2 IP to pick up the loss. Rene Reyes (2-3, HR, RBI, R) and Luke Allen (2-3, RBI, R) led the Sox offense on the day. With the loss, the Sky Sox fall to 2.0 games behind Omaha in the PCL Central Division. The Sox and Royals square off again on Saturday when Randy Flores (7-5, 4.00) takes the hill against Omaha's Mike Fyhrie (5-1, 3.66).
